Mark Tyler




Mark is a broadcast journalist who has worked for BBC Radio Devon and ITV Westcountry as a news and sport producer and presenter. He is a patron of the Dream-A-Way charity and a former patron of the Families for Children adoption charity. Mark is also a former trustee for the Devon Air Ambulance.

After leaving ITV in 2009, he expanded his Sound and Vision media production company and became the co-owner of Exeter FM radio (Radio Exe)

Mark was appointed as the OPCC Communication Manager shortly after the first PCC election in November 2012.

The communication team co-ordinates external and internal messaging for the OPCC. This includes press release writing and website content, blog articles, social media output, and direct media production, such as PCC TV video. 

It also organises PCC appearances on television, radio and newspapers / magazines and provides a direct link for media outlets seeking PCC comment on policing issues.  The team also advises on content for public facing OPCC documents and has input on speech writing and message delivery at public and partnership events. 

 Mark is also the community link officer for rural East Devon and Exmouth.
