Contracts and tenders
The police and crime commissioner owns contracts relating to his activities and linked to the ownership of assets and vehicles. All contracts of an operational nature are with the chief constable. A definitive list of contract ownership is maintained.
Copies of all formal contracts and invitations to tender (irrelevant of value)* to businesses, to the voluntary, commercial and social enterprise sectors carried out by Devon and Cornwall Police on behalf of the PCC can be accessed through the police website.
Here you can find information about current tender opportunities (invitations to tender), and awarded contracts by following the relevant link from the police website to the National Contracts Database, and selecting ‘Devon and Cornwall Police’ when asked for the organisation name.
*Please note, an exercise is currently underway to populate the National Contracts Database with contracts valued below £10,000 that are current but were awarded before legislation required the organisation to publish them. The intention is that all of these retrospective and active contracts for Devon and Cornwall Police will be available on the National Contracts Database by 2015.
The majority of low value contracts are in the form of a purchase order. We publish this expenditure (where the value is over £500) and this information can be found here.
