In April 2015 the police and crime commissioner took responsibility for the provision of victims services. Since 2021 the Victim Support is commissioned to deliver services to victims of crime.

Funeral service for Falmouth PC Andy Hocking

Tony Hogg reflects on the emotional service for the popular Falmouth PC Andy Hocking. Family and community coming together to pay tribute, and celebrate Andy's incredible contribution to local life.

Much has been said about Andy's unique qualities. He was probably the best example of the 'village Bobby' in the Devon and Cornwall Force today. The church service focussed all the emotions of the community, and those who spoke in eulogy managed their deep emotional feelings with great courage. They did Andy and his family proud.

The event concluded in Falmouth Rugby Club where the atmosphere lightened and there was more emphasis on celebrating Andy's gifts to the community, both during his life and in his death.

I felt privileged to have known Andy and to attend the event as PCC.
