Incidents of hate crime

A statement from Police and Crime Commissioner Alison Hernandez

“These attacks are despicable acts committed by despicable people and I want to reassure members of all our communities that they need not feel frightened or threatened and, if they do, that the police are there to protect them.

“The vast majority of people across Devon and Cornwall do not tolerate such behaviour and the police are very proactive in protecting society’s most vulnerable.

“I would encourage anyone who has seen anything in relation to these horrible crimes to come forward and report it so that the police can bring the culprits to justice.

“The police stand ready to help anyone who feels at risk at any time, but it is all of our responsibility to rally round and support those who are being targeted in such a heinous way.”
