Open and Transparent Quality Mark 2016/17 and 2017/18

Levels of crime

There are 43 Police Forces in England and Wales (plus the British Transport Police). Based on crime data, out of those 43 areas in 2019 Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly is the 5th safest place.

The PCC monitors how crime is changing so that they can better understand the needs of communities. This then influences how a PCC may set priorities for the police (in the police and crime plan), make decisions, work with others and commission services.

Information about levels of crime:

Devon and Cornwall Police publish crime figures 4 times a year. You can find this information on the Devon and Cornwall Police website.

You can also find information about crime in your local area on the Police.UK website.
