Levels of crime
There are 43 Police Forces in England and Wales (plus the British Transport Police). Based on data from December 2019, Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly had the second lowest rate of crime in England and Wales.
The PCC monitors how crime is changing so that they can better understand the needs of communities. This then influences how a PCC may set priorities for the police (in the police and crime plan), make decisions, work with others and commission services.
