Tony Hogg hands over fair funding petition
Police and Crime Commissioner Tony Hogg has been to 10 Downing Street today to hand over an 8,569 strong signature petition demanding Fair Funding for Devon and Cornwall Police.
Mr Hogg was accompanied by MPs Ben Bradshaw, Sheryll Murray and Kevin Foster.
The names have been collected over a six week period and together form the biggest ever single public consultation into policing issues in Devon and Cornwall - and the biggest nationally by a PCC.
The Government is currently consulting on the formula it uses to decide what percentage of the national policing budget each police gets.
Tony Hogg is concerned that if proposals are accepted large rural forces will lose millions of pounds - with up to £24m being lost from Devon and Cornwall's budget.
