Volunteers wanted at the Victim Care Unit

The Victim Care Unit is looking for volunteers to help offer victims of crime the support they need.

Volunteers wanted at the Victim Care Unit

Do you want to support victims of crime?

Do you have skills that could enable you to help victims cope and recover from the effects of crime?

You could be just what the Victim Care Unit is looking for.

There are now two opportunities to volunteer at the Victim Care Unit. The Unit is looking for volunteers to support the Victim Care Unit based in Exeter and volunteers to support victims of fraud throughout Devon and Cornwall.

Since 1 April 2015, the police based Victim Care Unit has been a single point of contact for all victims of crime in Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. It provides immediate support as well as working with their network of approved victim care providers through a referral system (with consent) to ensure victims get the help they need.

If you are interested, you need to send your 'Expression of Interest' by 30 September 2015.

All those who send an 'Expression of Interest', are invited to attend an Open Meeting. These are an oppurtunit for potential volunteers to find out more information. The Open Meetings are free, however, you will need to book a place (using the links below). The meetings are as follows:

  • Tuesday 6 October       2pm-4pm         Exeter
  • Wednesday 7 October   2pm-4pm        Plymouth
  • Friday 9 October            2pm-4pm         Truro

Please note full training will be given.

If you are interested in applying, you can find more information about the roles and how to send an Expression of Interest (EOI) here >
