In April 2015 the police and crime commissioner took responsibility for the provision of victims services. Since 2021 the Victim Support is commissioned to deliver services to victims of crime.

Riot Compensation Act - guidance for claimants

If your property was damaged, destroyed or stolen during recent civil unrest you may be able to claim under the Riot Compensation Act 2016.

The Home Office has provided guidance for claimants (available here) for your information.

The Commissioner is Claims authority for anyone who had uninsured losses as a result of a riot.

If you are in this position, and the damage took place in the Devon & Cornwall Police area, please ensure that you have reported the damage to the police, and if you wish to make a claim please email OPCC@dc-pcc.gov.uk with your contact details to Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner and an overview of your situation.
