The ‘front desk’, in Chapel Street, Plymouth, opened in November and is staffed from 10am to 3pm six days a week.

Members of the local community were due to meet there today for an official ribbon cutting event but this has been postponed, following the discovery of a Second World War bomb in nearby Keyham.

Catering which had been ordered for the event is being taken to the Plymouth Life Centre and distributed among those evacuated while the Royal Navy and emergency services deal with the ordnance.

The Devonport Police Enquiry office is one of 18 which are being reopened or opened for the first time by Devon & Cornwall Police in a project driven by the Police and Crime Commissioner.
