Tony Hogg, PCC's - Archive Performance and accountability board

Tony Hogg has decided that all performance and accountability board meetings will be open to the public and will be webcast. Members of the public can also forward questions and the PCC may then put them to Chief Constable Shaun Sawyer so they can be answered in public. There is also an opportunity for members of the public to put questions to the Chief Constable and PCC at the end of the meeting although this informal part of the meeting will not be webcast.

The purpose of the performance and accountability board (PAB) is:
  • To hold the chief constable to account for the functions of the chief constable, and to ensure the maintenance of an efficient and effective police service in Devon and Cornwall;
  • To enable the PCC to ensure the chief constable is held to account for the following particular areas;
  • The strategic policing requirement;
  • Having regard to the Police and Crime Plan;
  • Codes of practice;
  • Engagement with local people;
  • To ensure compliance with the statutory duties of the police and crime commissioner;
  • To enable the PCC to be accountable to the people of Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly through open and transparent governance;
